Welcome to Hawthorn Class Year 3/4
I am Mrs Sarah Driver (Hawthorn class teacher and Deputy Headteacher) and joined the team at Woodchester in January 2017. I am privileged to be the class teacher in Hawthorn which is a mixed year 3 and 4 class. I am wonderfully supported by Mrs Anna Trusty and Miss Rebecca Dangerfield who bring so much energy and enthusiasm to our learning experiences. Since January we have been working hard to develop our skills, knowledge and confidence as independent learners and ensure that the children have lots of practical, inspiring and engaging learning experiences.
Our vibrant curriculum “comes alive” each term with the home learning opportunities and this clearly makes their learning exciting. This deeper involvement and engagement embeds all the key skills across the school curriculum. I encourage children and their families to always be at the heart of what we do at school. Children and families are working together and are actively involved, sharing and celebrating and enjoying learning.
As children make the transition into Key Stage 2 we dedicate time and resources to encourage, nurture and develop their personal, social and emotional needs in order to equip our young learners with skills for modern life and their futures.
I feel passionately that all children in our care should be taught about kindness, love, compassion, humility and friendship. Through our school values and mutual respect, our children will be equipped to change the world!
