Avebury Trip - Hawthorn and Juniper Class
We really enjoyed our trip to Avebury, visiting all sorts of stones of different shapes and sizes. Avebury is a group of stones split into four sections and from above it is in a circle formation. We travelled to
Avebury to see what it might have been like in the Stone Age era, since this is the topic that Hawthorn and Juniper are studying in History. We learnt a variety of different facts and myths about the stones, such as: The Devil's Chair creates a scary shadow and the Polishing Stone was used to polish flint. We observed how deep the henge was by standing on the edge and looking over. We also visited two interesting museums and saw skeletons and weaponry.
