Science after School
“Science is beautiful when it makes simple explanations of phenomena or connections between different observations” stated Professor Stephen Hawking.
As part of our passion for Science, Woodchester offers a number of after school clubs to engage children allowing them to investigate connections and make observations in a fun way.
We offer STEM clubs for both KS1 and KS2 children in partnership with our supplier, STEMKids (https://stemkids.co.uk/). The idea behind STEMKids is to engage children in science, technology, engineering and maths projects to hopefully inspire and encourage our engineers, mathematicians and scientists of the future.
Recent KS1 projects have included catapults, air rockets, pneumatic monsters, snap dragons, balloon cars and scuttle bug which the children really enjoyed making and taking home with them.
KS2 children have made a steady hand game, roller coasters, fidget spinners and fan cars.
