Geography In Key Stage 1

Geography In Key Stage 1

In KS1, the children begin to learn about the location of the continents and oceans; as well as the location, human and physical geography of the countries of the United Kingdom and their capital cities. The context of their learning focuses on local areas, around school as well as other places in the UK.

Use of maps, atlases, photos and the internet ensures a well-balanced and interactive method of learning for all pupils. Geography enables children to gain an awareness of where and how they live, and how they fit into the wider geographical and social context.
